Betboro - World cup qatar 2022
Tv ad
Context
This project was a TV advertising campaign for Betboro, created for broadcast in Iran and Ghana to align with the anticipation surrounding the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
The brief was to capture the scale, excitement, and global energy of the tournament while working under strict restrictions — with no use of official World Cup branding, iconography, or terminology.
The challenge was to communicate a globally recognisable sporting moment without referencing any of its visual identity.
Approach
I developed a cinematic motion direction focused on evoking scale, anticipation, and emotional intensity through visual storytelling alone.
Without access to official football or World Cup imagery, the piece relied on abstracted representations of energy, crowd emotion, and sporting tension to convey meaning.
Motion pacing, rhythm, and composition were used to build a sense of progression and global unity, allowing the viewer to intuitively understand the context without explicit branding.
The visual language was designed to feel universal, focusing on emotion and atmosphere rather than literal representation.
Result
The final advert delivered a cinematic, emotionally driven campaign that successfully communicated the excitement of a global football moment without relying on official World Cup imagery.
It created a sense of scale and anticipation through motion-led storytelling, aligning the Betboro brand with the energy of the tournament in a compliant yet impactful way.
