Tv Channel Promo/social campaign

Creative Director - Mark Lucas | Motion Design - George Hurrell

Context

This project was a promotional campaign for the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament (March Madness), delivered for a TV channel audience.

The brief was to create a fresh, high-energy promo with a youthful tone that captured the intensity and excitement of the tournament in a way that felt modern and visually distinctive.

Rather than relying on traditional sports footage or player imagery, the goal was to communicate the feeling of the event through motion and graphic design alone.

Approach

Working closely with the Creative Director, I helped develop a motion-led visual direction built entirely around abstract graphics, rhythm, and energy.

The focus was on translating the pace and intensity of basketball into a visual system driven by motion, typography, and dynamic composition — rather than literal sports representation.

Every element was designed to reinforce momentum, tension, and impact, mirroring the structure and feeling of a live game through abstract visual language.

Result

The final promo delivered a bold, energetic campaign piece that reinterpreted March Madness through motion design rather than traditional sports footage.

It created a distinctive visual identity for the channel promo while capturing the intensity and excitement of the tournament in a fresh, modern way.
