infographics / Motion identity system

Context

This project was developed for Nexus at the University of Leeds, a research and innovation hub hosting events, seminars, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

The requirement was to create a motion design system for use across a large network of digital screens, including a central video wall, to communicate information and reinforce the Nexus identity in a consistent visual language.

The challenge was to design a flexible system that could operate across multiple screen formats while maintaining clarity and brand cohesion.

Approach

I developed a dynamic motion graphics system based on the existing brand guidelines, translating static identity elements into a structured motion framework. The system was designed for scalability across different screen formats, ensuring consistency across infographics, informational content, and environmental display screens.

Motion principles were defined around clarity, hierarchy, and spatial rhythm, allowing complex information to be communicated in a structured and readable format. This work also extended into the development of a sub-brand identity for “Innovation at Nexus”, establishing a distinct but aligned visual language for innovation-focused content.

Result

The final system delivered a cohesive motion identity framework used across Nexus’ digital screen network. It strengthened brand consistency across environments while enabling clear communication of information and reinforcing the “Innovation at Nexus” sub-brand within a unified visual system.
