Temple vision - ceg
brand vision film
Produced by Thompson Brand PArtners | Motion Design/Animation George Hurrell
Context
This project was a brand vision film for CEG’s early-stage development, Temple based in Leeds.
At the time of production, the development was still in its initial phase, meaning there was limited visual material available. The brief required establishing a visual direction that could define the tone, identity, and emotional positioning of the project ahead of its full launch. The challenge was to build a cohesive motion-led brand expression from minimal existing assets while maintaining alignment with the developing identity.
Approach
I worked from early brand guidelines to develop an expanded visual system that could translate static identity elements into a motion-led brand narrative. A key component of the work involved designing and developing a weave-inspired visual language, derived from contextual and brand references, which acted as a foundational motif throughout the film.
This was explored through 3D material studies, including fabric simulations, texture development, and compositional lighting studies to establish a refined and adaptable visual system. Motion was then used to bring these elements together, introducing rhythm, transition, and spatial depth to create a sense of evolution and emergence within the brand story.
Result
The final film established a clear early-stage visual identity for Temple, translating limited initial assets into a cohesive and evolving brand vision. It provided a foundation for how the development could be visually communicated going forward, combining material exploration with structured motion design to define tone and direction.
